Vibrant and abstract aesthetics are nothing new to the platformer gaming world. But, that does not make us any less excited when we hear that another is coming to VR. KIN, a VR platformer game, brought to you by House of Secrets is set to release on Oculus later this year.
While we do not have a lot of information on KIN as of now, we do know a few tasty tidbits. For starters, players will take on the role of a white-haired girl in a brightly colored dress. That is it, nothing more to tell. Okay, we do know a little more. We know that this platformer will have players exploring alien landscapes and solving puzzles along the way.
A Journey of Discovery
KIN also has a combat element to the game. Unfortunately, we don’t have any specifics about the style of combat at this time. We do know that your journey will reveal more about exactly who this tiny girl with big hair really is. This should be interesting because those landscapes you’re jumping around on, belong to an ancient civilization on a distant planet.
This is House of Secrets’ first VR release as far as games are concerned. But, the indie studio is no stranger to VR development. This in-house animation studio has produced two VR music videos, called Surge and APEX. Surge is one of the first real-time animated VR experiences of its kind. APEX premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival’s Virtual Arcade program in 2017.
No price has been given for KIN as of yet but it will be playable on the Rift and Gear VR. This platformer will be available through the Oculus store sometime later this year.
