Illusion Ranger released their debut VR shooter, Aeon for HTC Vive in May last year. It’s full of bullet-time action, slashing swords, and lots of futuristic robot enemies. The game has since done relatively well for itself and has a mostly positive review from players on Steam. The development team also recently added support for both Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality.
But sadly PSVR owners were still missing out on all the action. Until a player decided to send the developers a message on the game’s Steam Discussions board and ask if they’ll ever consider adding support for Playstation VR. A developer at Illusion Ranger soon replied with a confirmation that the team is actually working to bring Aeon to PSVR. However, that might happen later rather than sooner as he also said that “it will take a long time. It may take 3-5 months or more because the release of PS requires a lot of work.”
So it’s great news for anyone looking to play this game on their Playstation VR headsets, but there’s no telling how long they’ll have to wait for it.
Check out the trailer below:
Aeon is in its core essence a wave shooter that pits you against various AI robots across several levels. In terms of gameplay, it’s been compared to titles like Super Hot and Sairento, mostly because of its time-controlling mechanic that let’s time move as fast as you do. The game has been praised for its great visuals, dynamic swordplay, and challenging fights. Though that is where its strengths and main focus lies. The developers have done away with any sort of storyline or narrative – so Aeon is simply about killing robots and doing it in a way that looks as cool as possible.
If you’re excited to try this game then you can check it out on Steam for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift & Touch, and Windows Mixed Reality for $24.99. We’ll keep you up to date on when Aeon comes to PSVR.
