Anamorphine finally gets an official launch date. After an unexpected delay at the start of the year, developers Artifact 5 announced July 31st as the big day. Rift and Vive owners will be able to pick up the anticipated release for $19.99. However, PSVR owners will have to wait a little longer.
Originally set to launch back in January, the developers delayed the release in order give it a nice shine before public consumption. When dealing with the subject matter of depression and the human psyche, the devil is definitely in the details. When your game features no dialogue, those details need to be top notch!
A Story Without Words
Anamorphine is a tale of two lovers, told without words. One is violently stripped of her ability to play the cello, leaving her without a livelihood or creative outlet. The other is left to relive the key moments of their relationship, as he watches his lovers painful battle with depression and loss. The impact of this begins to take its toll, as he struggles with his own guilt and feelings of helplessness.
Depression is a difficult topic and rarely becomes the focus of a video game. We are certainly excited to see how Artifact 5 has approached this unique dive into the human psyche. In the meantime, head on over to the Steam page and be sure to check out the launch trailer, below.
