Operation Warcade is a warfare arcade shooter inspired by late ’80s classic war arcade games. I’ve personally never spent much time in an arcade, but they were all the rage back then and are steadily making a comeback with VR. This war action shooter released on Steam and the Oculus store for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets last year, and is now coming to PSVR as well.
This nostalgic arcade title from Ivanovich Games has received positive feedback from players and critics, and is a much anticipated upcoming title for PlayStation VR. Luckily, players won’t have to wait for long because Operation Warcade is set to release for the platform on April 11th. A physical copy will also become available in Q2 2018.
Perp Games will be managing the physical release of the game for PSVR. “Operation Warcade takes the very best of arcade gaming and seamlessly merges this with the new technology of PlayStation VR. It is great that Ivanovich Games chose to work with Perp as their partner for the retail version of the game,” said Managing Director of Perp Games, Rob Edwards about the partnership with Ivanovich Games.

In Operation Warcade you can go old school by playing on an arcade machine or use the innovative immersion system to travel inside the video game and onto the battlefield whenever you want. The game lets you take part in epic battles on the front in both side-scroller and first-person view. Flying helicopters and jets, driving tanks and trucks, blasting enemies to bits or stabbing them with knives – it’s all possible in Operation Warcade.
There are 6 levels full of explosive arcade fun to explore, or you can try the ‘immersive mode’ – which will see you taking on an army of soldiers alone, Rambo-style, in over 100 missions.
So if you’re in the mood for some nostalgia paired with an immersive virtual experience, then make sure to check out Operation Warcade when it releases later this month.
