At long last, we finally have an official, early access, release date for Beat Saber. This rhythm-based VR game from Hyperbolic Magnetism has been generating quite the buzz over the past few months. Chances are, if you follow any of the VR based social media groups, you have no doubt seen the studio produced gameplay videos pop up.
It just goes to show that when you mix lightsabers, impressive mixed reality game footage, and one hell of a beat, gamers will take notice. We know, it’s hard to turn down anything that has you slashing away with lightsabers.
What We Really Want to Know
We do know that the game will be headed to both Steam and the Oculus store May 1. We also know that it will include 10 tracks at the time of its early access launch. Fans even got a sneak peek at one of those tracks, Who’s the Living Legend, last week. You can check out the trailer for that below, and yes, it’s pretty freaking cool.
Unfortunately, some vital information is still shrouded in mystery. We do not, yet, have a price or a time frame for the games early access period. More importantly, we have no idea if Beat Saber will support user created content, or if it will rely solely on tracks put out by the studio. One thing is for sure, we will be anxiously waiting for May 1st, even if we will never look as cool as the cats in the trailer.
