Have you ever dreamed of frantically slashing your lightsaber around to a killer beat? If so, you probably envision that scenario involving tons of droids being laid to waste. While you won’t get the droids, Beat Saber is going to make at least half of that dream come true.
Recently, Hyperbolic Magnetism released a gameplay teaser, showing everyone just what that will look like. As expected, it looks like a great workout paired with the satisfying feeling of swinging a lightsaber!
Simple is Fun
As we see in the trailer, this VR rhythm game is pretty easy to follow for anyone familiar with rhythm games. The blocks tell you what hand to use and what direction to swing, all you need to do is cut. You don’t even need to worry about looking graceful while you do it. The developers are actually trying to get players to dance through their ingame actions.
The basic levels are designed to enforce the rhythm of the games music. The developers hope here is to provide a better experience than that found in generated content. The game will also feature quick play and a career mode. So, if you have ever dreamed of breaking into the musical saber swinging bizz, here is your chance to practice.
Beat Saber is due out in Q1 of this year but no price or specific platform has been announced. We are definitely excited to see a rhythm-based game centered around a lightsaber. Our only hope is that those blocks eventually turn into droids and we can add our own tunes!
