The Perfect Sniper is a first-person tactical shooter for VR that has you assassinating various targets across a corrupt city in morally ambiguous sniper missions. First announced back in October last year, the game is now slated to release on Steam for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality on January 15th, according to a Discord interview by Road To VR. Apparently, the game is also set to release for Playstation VR at a yet to be announced later date.
Back when it was first announced, SinStudio made The Perfect Sniper sounded like a simple shooter where you use room-scale to hide in a tower and take shots at approaching robots who took over the city. Doesn’t sound very appetizing, does it? However, since then, it’s come to light that the game will have narrative-based progression system with varying missions that include you in car chases, helicopter sniping sessions, and escort missions. All of which will play out across both summer and winter maps.

According to the game’s Steam page, you’re involved in a vendetta against organized crime headed by a single family. “lets you take on the role of a deadly vigilante as you take down the Romanos, an organized crime family involved in an underground market for weapons, drugs and human trafficking. Tactical target eliminations, car chases and more; prevent minor crime with sharp precision and stop major crime with nothing but deadly force,” the page says. Not much more is known about the game right now, but it already sounds intriguing.
In terms of visual theme, the creators behind The Perfect Sniper seemed to have go with a more cartoonish, low-poly feel instead of the usual realistic 3D graphics you usually see in a first-person shooter. However, this doesn’t mean that the game won’t have some serious shooting action. So you better start working your trigger finger muscles in preparation.
