Superheroes are so hot right now. No, I’m not talking about their super physiques, but rather their superpower to enchant millions all across the globe. So of course, anyone with the chance to suck on the superhero money cow has latched on tightly. Not that I’m complaining about it at all – although my bank account certainly isn’t happy. Virtual Reality luckily isn’t missing out on this super craze, with Marvel Games, Sanzaru Games, and Oculus Studio having teamed up to let people step into the shoes of some of their favorite heroes in Marvel Powers United VR.
After Oculus announced the upcoming game last year, Oculus released a few updates announcing some of the heroes you can expect to find in the game. So far, the lineup includes Captain Marvel, The Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, Deadpool, Black Bolt, Crystal, and Thor. Oculus has been teasing the latest hero to join the marvelous group, which has now been revealed to be none other than our Vibranium-wearing friend from Wakanda – Black Panther. A new short trailer has been released which shows Black Panther in action in the upcoming game.
Check out the trailer:
Marvel Powers United VR is a co-op action game that allows you and three friends take on the roles and powers of Marvel’s heroes in the fight against villains like Ronan the Accuser and the Norse trickster god Loki. As you try to complete missions with your friends, you’ll get to wield awesome powers like Thor’s Mjolnir, Captain Marvel’s photon beams, and Black Panther’s sharp claws.
“Battle to save the universe across rich and iconic environments inspired by Marvel Comics and more. Immerse yourself in a full-body Super Hero experience, wielding their amazing abilities using the incredible Touch controllers in dynamic and exciting gameplay,” the game’s description says. A player combo and scoring system will also allow you to unlock new suits and iconic decor items, amongst other things.
If this sounds like something you’d be into, then make sure to grab yourself a copy of Marvel Powers United VR when it releases later this month on July 26th for Oculus Rift at $39.99 US. The game is also now available to pre-order.
