Vancouver-based Studio Virtro has released their first Gear VR game called Zombie Donuts, with a pending release for the upcoming Oculus Go. Having previously released the Wizard of Oz-themed endless VR runner Run Dorothy Run on Playstation VR and Steam.
Zombie Donuts features 3 sugary LSD-laced levels full of raging confectionary stampeding at your poor self. Luckily you’ve been armed a marshmallow blaster and act as the last line of defense against these undead-donuts. Each round in this super sweet world will have donuts storming you from all sides and you can stand your ground or run, but you have to collect waffle hearts to restore your health and earn bonus points to help pass each level, by collecting goodies that float above defeated donuts. You’ll also collect extra points with long, bounce and trick shots.
“We are all very excited about this release”, said Virtro founder & CEO, Jordan Brighton in a press statement. “The team had worked tirelessly and the result, Zombie Donuts, is a nice tribute to the zombie genre alongside being a fun and entertaining title that everyone can play. We’re thrilled to finally be able to share it.This game will make you jump, laugh and even squeal. From 9 to 99 everybody loves it!” she added.
Zombie Donuts is available now on the Oculus Store at $0.99 for Gear VR and on Google Play and the App Store for Google Cardboard and iOS. It will soon be available as a launch title for the Oculus Go as well.
So if you’re into blasting the jam out of donuts then make sure to catch this family friendly title before everything gets covered in glaze.
