Full XP has been working with a mobile VR studio, Visible Realms to release their flagship game – Cat ‘S’ Trophy. Now this game is basically a hail to our overlords, the cats of the internet. In fact, according to the creators of the game, Cat ‘S’ Trophy is a love letter to cat memes.
Cat ‘S’ Trophy is a casual kart management game for Samsung Gear VR. The game is designed to be quirky and pays homage to popular cat memes through the characters and the race tracks. It’s basically a mash-up of the internet’s two favourite things – cats and Mario Kart. What more could you want, right?
The game has five chosen cat racers summoned by the cat god (ruler of the internets, pioneer of new realms, and giver of burgers) to race for the Cat ‘S’ Trophy. You, as the human helper, are being allowed to direct the games, guide the cats, and aid in your cat partners’ glory by sabotaging the other contestants to collect the most star stuff and win the race. Which essentially means that you choose a cat to race with and you can create custom race tracks of your own.

According to the developers, Cat ‘S’ Trophy doesn’t just focus on immortalizing cat memes in VR, but also on “broadly approachable mechanics, so that anyone new to VR will quickly adapt to playing in VR without suffering from the common side effects.” This includes being able to customize your own race tracks by drawing lines using a ball of string. The races are also viewed in third-person. “Just like cat memes, Cat ‘S’ Trophy is designed to be as universally understandable and as simple as the cat memes themselves,” the studio said.
So the game sounds promising for anyone new to VR or for those who play casually. Loving cats is a must as well of course!

The cat crew. Can you guess their meme inspirations?
Visible Realms was founded in 2017 by two entertainment and game industry veterans, Eliza and Teemu Jäppinen. The pair have previously worked on the cutscenes for Trials of the Blood Dragon by Redlynx Studio. Eliza is also known as the creator behind Studio Killers, an animated band. Which boasts the same art style as the upcoming Cat ‘S’ Trophy.
No release date has been announced for Cat ‘S’ Trophy yet. But if you’re keen to get your hands on this one then make sure to check back in regularly because we’ll make sure to let you know when more info is available.
