You would be hard pressed to deny that massive online battle arena games are growing in popularity. VR is no exception. Personally, I would kill for an Overwatch League type experience in VR. Luckily, the developers over at Tribe VR are looking to start us down that path with their MOBA, Conjure Strike.
Focusing on fast passed strategic action, Conjure Strike pits four VR players in 2v2 arena action. The playable lineup for the early access launch will include a Mage Hunter, Elementalist, and Earth Warden. Each class packs a unique range of skills, complete with their own Ultimate ability. More classes are in the works, so hopefully we will see some class synergy and counter team makeups down the road.
The early access launch will feature two game modes, Capture the Flag and King of the Hill. In order to damage the enemy’s base, and win the game, you first need to complete this game mode objective. Just to throw in a little more chaos into the mix each team will have drones that, if not kept in check, will overwhelm you.
The game will also feature its own style of locomotion. It looks to use head tracking in conjunction with d-pad style movement, using the thumbstick. According to the devs, this freestyle movement will have players flying through the skies with ease. The Conjure Strike early access is set to launch May 7th, and you can pick it up on the Oculus Store.
