If you’ve played Accounting from Squanch Games before, then you’ll be familiar with Justin Roiland’s particular brand of eccentric humor. The studio did pretty well for themselves with their first VR debut and are now back with a new game called Trover Saves the Universe, announced at the Sony E3 2018 keynote.
The trailer they showed at the event makes Trover Saves the Universe look like a colorful action platformer with a third-person view. Of course, it also featured the typical crass humor you can expect from the studio scattered throughout the game’s trailer as well.
The game’s website doesn’t give away much just yet either, but does have a little quirky blurb to describe what’s happening in the game. “Wonderful. Your dogs have been dognapped by a beaked lunatic who stuffed them into his eye holes and is using their life essence to destroy the Universe. Does that make sense?” The site also has a short press release in the form of a comic strip, but it too doesn’t give too much away about the gameplay, except to say that you can expect a lot of action – which apparently includes fighting little gremlins.

Trover Saves the Universe is set to release exclusively for PS4 and PS VR sometime early next year, though no final release date has been announced just yet. Squanch Games is currently also working on a Google Daydream title called Dr. Splorchy Presents: Space Heroes which was revealed at the GDC earlier this year.
