With the recent Patch 9.0 dropping for Echo Arena, one of the best ingame lobbies has become even better. The Lobby 2.0 not only gives players new ways to practice the game, but it adds a few features that make is feel more like a proper hangout. We get music to dance to, color coordinated zones, and even a real time player tracking map so you can find your friends.
For those unfamiliar with the Echo Arena lobby, it might sound odd that people would think this is a big deal. However, after one visit to the lobby, you will see why this staging area is every bit as fun as the game itself.
The lobby isn’t just a place to hang out and trash talk other teams, it is also a place to learn. The Lobby 2.0 update gives players access to just about everything you need to hone your skills. The brawler room has been expanded, giving you more room to practice combat. You now have launch tubes so you can nail that perfect boost. You can even summon your own practice disc in the quarter-court, so you don’t have to spend 20 minutes hunting down the community disc. This one even has a return function!
The update has also seen the addition of a new wing that is still under construction. The Echo Combat logo pasted on the door has everyone chomping at the bit for a glimpse at upcoming expansion. For more information on this zero-g FPS dream come true, click here.
The 9.0 patch has address some ingame issues as well. One of the big changes is the backboard collision getting reworked to cut down on odd disk bounce. Private match settings can now be edited by everyone, instead of just the party leader and some exploits have been killed.
