Ready At Dawn, creators of the insanely popular Echo Arena, shared some big news at OC4 this week. It would seem that they have decided to expand their zero-gravity franchise into the world of combat. That’s right, Echo Combat will be a zero-gravity first-person shooter expansion releasing sometime in 2018.
Echo Arena has seen a great deal of success and even has its own Esport following. It only makes sense that the developers would want to bring the first FPS of its kind to the party as well. Unfortunately, short of the trailer provided, we simply don’t know what the gameplay will entail. Personally, I would love to see an Ender’s Game type combat in play!
It would seem that Echo Arena isn’t alone in getting some more future content. The developers have also stated that Lone Echo will be receiving its own expansion. No details have been giving about where this expansion will pick up from or when it will be release.
The trailer does give a 2018 release date on Echo Combat, but nothing more. Oculus has indicated that further information will be released during the conference. We will keep you up to date as information becomes available.
