After the success of their Evil Dead: Endless Nightmare horror game on iOS and Android, indie publisher Boomdash Digital has announced that they have renewed their partnership with Ghosthouse Entertainment and Screen Northern Ireland to bring the zombie game to mobile VR devices.
Evil Dead: Endless Nightmare was a bone-chilling mobile game based on the remake of the cult classic Evil Dead series. Now the game is getting resurrected into a new medium that puts you straight in the middle of all of the action. Evil Dead: Virtual Nightmare will offer fans of the series the unique opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the Evil Dead world like never before. Much like the mobile version, Evil Dead: Virtual Nightmare places you inside the infamous cabin and picking the weapons you’d like to use when taking on Deadites in the surrounding forest.
“After the successful partnerships that was established for Evil Dead: Endless Nightmare, it only felt natural to bring everyone back together to collaborate on this next project. We’re excited to be working with all parties and bringing Evil Dead to the mobile VR audience. It develops further our capabilities of working with brand owners to mobilise their properties to existing and now VR audience,” said Production Director at Boomdash, Viktorya Hollings.
Evil Dead: Virtual Nightmare is set to release sometime in June 2018. No specific supported platforms have been announced yet, but we’re expecting the Samsung Gear VR and possibly Google Daydream as well.
In Evil Dead: Endless Nightmare you get equipped with iconic zombie-killing weapons like a shotgun and chainsaw, then sends you out into the forest to face down the Deadites and defend yourself against falling trees and swinging vines as you make your way to the final battle against the evil witch. The studio hasn’t revealed which features have made it over to the VR game yet, or which new ones have been added (if any) – but if the mobile game is anything to go by then it should make for a thrilling experience.
