Fancy yourself a brave soul? Well, then The Devil Awaits VR should be a breeze then, if you’re game. In The Devil Awaits VR you play as Rick H. Johanson who is escaping from the police after a bank robbery when he finds an abandoned cabin to take shelter in. Though the cops aren’t the only thing he should be afraid of, apparently (Cabin in the Woods anyone?).
In this game you’ll find yourself fighting against evil creatures in a creepy cabin while analyzing clues and solving puzzles to, hopefully, escape their clutches. Though judging from the game’s website, it seems they want to be freed as well. Apparently, a devil had been capturing the souls of innocent people of the region.
The Devil Awaits VR was released back in December and has now gotten its first update. The visuals have been improved and game performance has been optimized. Bloompix Studios have also tweaked the controls and added some more dialogue to the game.
Take a look at the trailer below:
“Since the birth of VR, we’ve been wanting to feel real fear and despair in a virtual reality experience, and now we have made it happen,” said CEO at Bloompix Studios, Sergio Gardella. “Samsung Gear VR is the optimal home for The Devil Awaits VR, and I am certain that after playing it, a sense of disheartenment won’t vanish from your nightmares”.
Yup, going from prison escapee to solving cases of trapped souls and expelling a devil sounds pretty wacky. But it also sounds like it could make for an interesting game!
So if you’re a horror game fan and own a Gear VR then you can check The Devil Awaits VR out on the Oculus Store. It supports both the Gear VR trackpad and Gear VR controller, and is currently going for $4.99.
