Who of us didn’t have teddy bears when we were younger? Those cuddly, yet fierce protectors of our dreams during the night. With our valiant teddies at our side and by staying under the covers, no foot grabbing closet monster stood a chance.
But what happens when those cute teddy bears become the real threat? What happens when they become the evil things that go bump in the night? Our inner children are screwed. That’s what. Sneaky Bears is an upcoming wave shooter from WarDucks with a playful twist. In the game, you’re stuck in an abandoned toy factory with an evil teddy bear, called Frank, hell bent on taking over the world. This toy factory might look abandoned but Frank and his underlings are frantically busy creating more evil bears to help in their uprising against sticky hands with suffocating grips.
Sneaky Bears releases for Playstation VR and Oculus Rift on 29th of August for US with a $19.99 price tag, and on the 31st of August for Europe. The game is set to release for HTC Vive sometime soon as well, though no date has been set yet. Sneaky Bears is also already available for Gear VR with a $0.99 price tag, and for Google Cardboard.
Check out the trailer below:
In Sneaky Bears you are the only one that’s onto Frank’s evil machinations and so have to save the helpless panda teddies that Frank and his duplicate minions have captured for some reason on your own. There are three modes (Fire, Bomb, and Survival) through which you’ll be able to play in Sneaky Bears with 5 rounds in each mode. Then after you’ve completed those, you can face the sarcastic mastermind himself in a final boss round. You won’t be punching these teddy bears with your fists though, much as you might like to. As they’re rolling, running and flying at you, you’ll be able to use various guns against them, including a toy gun, shot gun, water gun, and freeze gun.
This is WarDucks’ first release on console and desktop virtual reality platforms, having previously launched two other titles on the Samsung Gear VR. “We are all very excited about this release”, said WarDucks founder & CEO, Nikki Lannen. “The team had worked tirelessly and the result, Sneaky Bears, is a nice tribute to the 80’s alongside being a fun and entertaining title. We’re thrilled to finally be able to share it.”
So if you don’t mind another wave shooter and really have a hankering to kill a teddy bear (you might want to go see someone for that) then make sure to give Sneaky Bears a try!
