Watching and interacting with dinosaurs is probably on a lot of people’s list of things they wish they could do. Of course, we’re probably never going to be able to do that in real life – unless someone starts messing with some mosquitoes in amber, so we’ll have to settle for virtual dinosaurs like those in Ark Park. Released earlier this year for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Windows MR, and PSVR by developer Snail Games, Ark Park takes you to an island filled with all sorts of versions and sizes of prehistoric wildlife.
Now, this dino-themed adventure has gotten its first DLC in the form of Pterosaur Hill, which adds new areas on the island, new gameplay features, and new creatures to the game for free. The Pterosaur Hill DLC is built around the concept of flight and lets you enter the clouds by floating in a hot air balloon overseeing Mountain Lake, ride the Crystal Sky lift through the clouds, and view the nest of the majestic Quetzalcoatlus, an immensely large prehistoric reptilian bird.
Check out the new trailer:
Ark Park lets you explore around the island in a pretty linear fashion – but has no discernible storyline. Instead, you get to look around each new area and interact with some of the animals in the region in unique ways. Pterosaur Hill adds some new battle-oriented gameplay where you get to soar around the skies on a pterosaur to show off your air dogfighting skills against other players, after which you can fly to the serpentine Death Canyon to find the nest of a fire-breathing dragon.
So if you’re up for some fun in the sky with dinosaurs, then make sure to check out the new update which releases today on Steam for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows MR, and the PlayStation Store for PSVR. PlayStation Plus members who own both a PSVR and the game will also get the Desert Camouflage outfit. The DLC is also set to arrive on the Oculus Store and Viveport sometime within the next couple of weeks.
