This has been a busy week for Oculus Rift owners and it’s not over yet. Another HTC Vive release has come to the Rift. REDspace has just announced that Gunball will now be available through the Steam store with full Rift support. Let’s fire up those Rifts and get ready shoot some balls!
Originally released for the Vive back in June, Gunball is a colorful and goofy sports/shooter hybrid game. You will be serving up balls as you would in tennis but then shoot the ball with a gun. The goal is to shoot the balls into various targets, collecting points, as quickly as possible. This is definitely not a complex game, but don’t let that fool you. If you want to make it to the top of the leaderboards, you will have to have a degree of skill.
A Fun Entry Point to VR
One of the great features with Gunball is that it is a simple game for anyone to just pick up and play. This makes it a great option for first time VR users. The colorful graphics and wacky concept of the game make it very approachable by young and older players. The competitive aspect of shooting for the top ranks makes it something more competitive VR gamers will also enjoy.
Two areas are available to play in, but both offer five different layouts to keep you busy. A stadium is one option, packed with cheering fans so you can put on a show of course. Or, a rainbow volcano is also an option. Yes, you read that correctly, a rainbow volcano. To my knowledge, the volcano option does not result in virtual bodily harm, so fear not.
Gunball is available right now on the Steam store for $14.99. If you are interested in finding out more about our take on Gunball, we have you covered. Yoy can read more about the HTC Vive release here.
