Once we were careless, and we let our enemies discover our weakness. They learned about our endless love for cute kittens. They struck – disguised as cute kittens – and our governments didn’t take action against these aliens. We lost the earth and now it’s time to take back what we have lost. Kittypocalypse is upon us, we will defend ourselves to the bitter end.
Unique Concept and Cuteness Overload
Kittypocalypse offers us a game with tons of kittens. And judging by how they’ve taken over the internet, you know that they’re are cute as hell too. I mean, yeah, this explanation precisely fits the situation. These kitties are cute – but you know what? They’re actually nasty aliens with green blood! Yes, they’re disgusting and you won’t hesitate to tear a hole in these monsters’ chests with a Gatling gun or melt them with your laser turret. At least, you will start to destroy those creatures with these weapons, but things will change. The game takes place in the future and technological development can be seen explicitly. Those aliens also created some armor to protect themselves, but, if you are smart with your resources, none shall pass. As you complete objectives, new towers get unlocked and things get harder as well.
Different Maps with Different Possibilities
In this post-kittypocalyptic universe, we need to find the best defense to keep those cute little kittens at bay. To do this, we have predesigned places where we can build our turrets. Yes, it seems like the developers thought that having the freedom of placing a turret could cause a problem in gameplay or they didn’t even think about the other option. However, I do believe that they have their reasons. With a restricted number of towers, choosing which tower to place where becomes a serious issue. On each map there are unique places for turrets and different ways for creatures to come at you, so you need to formulate a different plan for each map.
Towers and Abilities
The Kittypocalypse developers created different types of towers so that we can create the best defense using certain turrets at certain places. The Gatling gun is the best weapon against crowded enemy waves and laser guns can burn enemies with their powerful beams. There are improvements for each tower as well. You may improve your Gatling gun’s range and power or you can upgrade it to a two-headed version which has a better fire rate. The choice is yours but remember, you will need nearly every type of turret in your defense. We have blobcelarators and mine layers as well.
These turrets make the route to your base more deadly. One creates bubbles and makes aliens fly while the other one lays mines that explode when touched. There’s also an annihilator and missile launcher, both of which cause great damage to aliens. And there’s a Tesla Tower. I kinda liked it when I saw it but I found that it doesn’t work well for me.
A Challenging Tower Defense Game
If you think you are good at playing tower defense games then this game was created just for you. The main story may seem easy, but hold on; there is a skirmish option which I couldn’t manage to finish. This is not a game where you make tons of money while slaughtering your enemies with one developed turret. No sir, you need to pay every penny you have to protect what is yours. These kittens are not kidding, they want to destroy humankind with their lovely eyes and cute pink paws.
I must add that this kittypocalypse game is a virtual reality game, in which you can wander around the map freely and observe the game from the inside of the action. Other than this experience, which causes motion sickness, there is no other reason for this game to be a virtual reality game. I played this game without using an HTC Vive and it was better actually. It’s quite good game but not for virtual reality. VR adds little to the experience and I don’t think it adds enough to justify it being a VR title.
