Launching tomorrow on the Oculus Rift, MoonStrike, aims to lock you into a three-player galactic conquest for resource dominance. Yes, you and two other galactic superpowers engaged in a battle of wits, as you command your fleet in RTS combat of epic proportions. Well, kind of epic. More like epic, miniature proportions.
This RTS takes colonizing space and shrinks it down to the scale of your own virtual playset. Brought to you by the folks at Big Dorks Entertainment, Lee Perry and Tiffany Smith, MoonStrike goes for fast and simple gameplay. With an average match lasting around the two minute mark, the days of half hour long RTS spankings is finally over.
Players will have five races to choose from, each sporting their own unique stats and advantages. Of course, each of those advantages could be your undoing, depending on how well your two opponents play their strengths. The multiplayer combat is cross platform online, or solo against AI with three levels of difficulty.
You will also have the option of choosing between custom themed maps, or randomly generated maps to duke it out in. Expect MoonStrike to hit the Oculus Store and Steam on August 2nd. A 15% launch discount brings the price down to just $19.99 for a limited time.
