Player immersion is key to a good VR experience. What better way to up that level than with a pair of HTC Vive Trackers? How about a pair of updated Vive Trackers! That’s right, sneaky HTC recently updated their sale page, removing the 2017 version of the trackers for its all new 2018 model.
I know what you’re thinking, you have your all new Vive Pro on pre-order and your current Vive trackers simply won’t match. Fret not, HTC made sure to turn the Vive logo on the trackers from white to blue, so matching will not be a problem. Let’s take a look at what else has changed.
Not Much Has Changed
The updated Vive Trackers do not really have any changes to speak of, aside from their Base Station 2.0 support. The updated Base Stations are due out later this year, so the feature is definitely welcome. HTC also had the good since to make the new Trackers backwards compatible.
Beyond that added support, nothing has changed except the color of the logo. You can pick them up for the same price as before, $99.00 each. That is, once they are back in stock. The new trackers lasted about a day before demand overtook the supply.
