A couple months ago, we brought you word about an up and coming retro style FPS game called COMPOUND. This, solo developed, throwback to a simpler time has since made waves in the Steam community. So, what better way to update the games progress than with a little good news.
Bevan McKechnie, COMPOUND’s sole developer, has been working on the game in his spare time since 2016. However, alongside a recent update, Bevan has announced that he is throwing off the shackles of his day job and focusing solely on game development. We at VR the Gamers would like to say congratulations and thank you for sharing your talent with the world. That goes for all you indie developers out there as well. Keep those beautiful VR games coming!
The recent update to COMPOUND has brought a few new items to the game. First up is an all new map called “Chemical Processing”. The map is currently populated with existing enemies, however two all new enemies for the map are in the works. One of the new bad dudes is a “Stalker” bot that looks like an ED-209, and the other is a Suicide Drone.
The game has also gotten a new music track for the map “Profit Management”. The new track, “Kill Quotas”, is made by SPEEDBLACK, the artist responsible the games other amazing tracks. It definitely keeps the retro theme rolling right along with its 80’s synth vibe.
You can check out the new update, and all the rogue-lite free-roaming FPS fun for $19.99 on Steam. This Early Access shooter is playable on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Be sure and tell the dev what you think and help make this another great VR game!
