Let’s face it, holiday games are inevitable, and often bad. But, when they are free and let you play as a well-armed jolly fat man, that’s worth looking into. Firstborn Games is giving Vive owners an early gift to get them in the spirit of the season with a new tower defense game called Nick.
So, down that hot chocolate, finish those cookies, and set up your defenses. An endless horde of evil mechanical elves are headed for your door. Just be thankful that dear old Santa is apparently ready for such events with a well-stocked arsenal.
Not so Silent Night
You are on the run from a rogue, robot elf army making, AI of your own design. The realization that your last stand approaches is bittersweet, like a three-day old chocolate chip cookie. Do you lay down and die? Hell no, you use every weapon at your disposal to take out as many waves of robots as possible.
Okay, I will stop. Nick is a room scale tower defense style game that is set in first person. You will need to keep up your resources and position your defenses to hold off as long as possible. You won’t survive this game. Your goal is to hold out as long as you can. You can board up your windows, smash things with your Xmas mallet, and use a range of other abilities to get the job done. Well, not done, you’re going to die.
But hey, at least you have a suction gun called “Santa’s Little Helper” to keep you company until the bitter end. This is a free game available now on Steam for the HTC Vive. More importantly, this game is pretty well designed and entertaining, so go check it out and let us know what you think!
