Zen Studios recently announced that they are bringing Out of Ammo to PlayStation VR players. The studio just kicked off a new publishing initiative aimed at bringing popular independent studio content for the PC over to the console. Out of Ammo, the first of such content, was originally created by RocketWerkz and released back in September 2016.
Zen has said that it is going to be selective on what titles it will be porting over to console. However, more games will be announced in the coming weeks. The studio is also throwing in a free VR game for players that pre-order Out of Ammo. CastleStorm VR, the tower-defense action-RPG game also by Zen, will be bundled free of charge with all pre-orders.
Build, Command, Destroy
In Out of Ammo you will get to take command of the battlefield as waves of enemy soldiers try and ruin your day. You build your defenses and assign units under your command to defend and destroy the enemy. Like any commander worth his salt, you are expected to dive right into the action. That’s right, take direct control of any units under your command for a little FPS action.
With eight different environments, three game modes, and five different units available, Out of Ammo definitely has some content to it. The Steam version of the game has been met with some mixed criticism however. While the overall reviews are “Very Positive” many players are faced with a good number of bugs.
With any luck, Zen Studios will be addressing all of these and taking a good look at player feedback. Such issues just might indicate why the launch for the Out of Ammo port is set for winter of 2018. Unfortunately, no information is available on if the release will include the Death Drive expansion, or what the price will be. We will of course keep you posted as more info becomes available.
