Star Trek: Bridge Crew got its first major DLC back in May this year in the form of the TNG Expansion. It brought some of the most requested content from the series to the original game, but the expansion was only released for PS4 and PSVR. Now, the DLC is finally coming to the Oculus and Steam stores as well, with support for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.
Going for an additional $15 above the $40 required for the base game, getting those iconic sets and characters from the early 90’s Star Trek: The Next Generation won’t come cheap. But if you’re a big fan of captain Picard and want to have your shot at fighting off the Romulans then this is likely great news. The DLC also completely supports Cross-platform play, so it doesn’t matter whether you have a friend playing on PS4 and you’re using an Oculus Rift – you’ll still be able to team up and go at those dastardly Romulans together.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew The Next Generation DLC doesn’t just add a few superficial additions to the game so you can feel immersed in the The Enterprise NCC-1701D bridge set of the series. It also adds enhancements to the Ongoing Missions mode and two entirely new mission types, called Resistance and Patrol.
In Patrol you and your crew will get to explore the open galaxy at your own pace, where you will encounter objectives and fearsome enemies like Romulan Empire along the way. Whereas in Resistance the pace picks up quite a bit with your team being chased down by the deadly Borg. Resistance might be futile but so long as your team doesn’t give up, you might have a shot at defeating the Borg cube pursuing you. During your mad dash to escape the cube, you’ll face various objectives which, if completed, will help you in your final showdown against the Borg.
Captain’s personal log: My time has finally come. The USS Enterprise NCC-1701D will see even more great adventures in space… The final frontier.
