A world made of candy. It’s been a sugar-induced fevered dream for many. Just look at Willy Wonka’s candy factory or the Sugar Rush kart game in Wreck-It Ralph. Point is, if anything like that were possible in reality, I’d probably have diabetes. Fortunately, though, virtual reality lets us enter a world like that, if only to look at all the sweet confectionary, through Candy Coaster.
Created by India-based Timeloop Technologies, this rollercoaster ride has parked itself on Gear VR and is ready to take you on a toothache-inducing ride. It’s available now on Oculus Home at a $0.99 price tag.

So I’m personally not a big fan of VR coaster rides myself, since they generally seem to reduce all the capabilities of the platform to one little gimmick. However, there’s no denying that these experiences are popular – especially for people who want to show VR off to others for the first time. Or kids. Kids like rollercoasters and candy right? Well, at least there’s a minimal hazard of puking here. And Candy Coaster seems to make the experience almost saccharine.
“Adventure has never been so sweet before! Timeloop brings you a wonderful and colorful fantasy world that is full of cakes, candies, and ice-creams. Mouth-watering candy sticks, candy fountains and lollipops simply enhance the sweetness of this roller coaster ride. The floating islands of Candyland are home to some special fun loving creatures like dragons, puppies, cats, rabbits, teddy bears, pandas, and owls. The upbeat music serves as the icing on the cake,” the studio said in a press statement.
So if you’re looking for an ultra-sweet fun little experience for your Gear VR then I would say you’ve probably found it. Set on colorful floating islands filled with everything sugary and lots of interesting creatures, Candy Coaster is the perfect title to show off to the young-uns. Or just enjoy it as a little guilty pleasure yourself.
