From Levity Play comes a new team-based multiplayer shooter for VR on the 10th of November. Skyfront VR takes place in zero-gravity battle arenas where you compete to become one of the Guardians. The game takes place four hundred years after the planet was scarred beyond recognition in a huge battle called The Final War. I guess they just decided to stop counting them then. Now, in the year 2700 AD, the human race has rebuilt and even flourished. People have left the savagery of wars behind. By focusing on technology and science, people have achieved ultimate synergy with nature and Laws of Physics.
However, history should never be forgotten – lest we repeat it right? So humanity allows contestants from around the world compete in a symbolic competition called the Skyfront Tournament. Contestants in this competition battle in zero gravity arenas for the chance to win the title of Guardians, who are the Keepers Of Peace. It’s all a flourish of pompous symbolism if you ask me, but the tournament still serves an important purpose.

Skyfront VR has been in beta testing for a while now, and Levity Play finally announced that the futuristic shooter with the utopian setting is now releasing for Rift and Vive on Steam Early Access. For the launch, the studio is adding new content that even the beta testers haven’t gotten to play with yet. These features include being able to choose the regional servers you want to play on in case yours is empty, new weapons like a shotgun and a sniper rifle – one of the weapons that beta testers wanted the most, 2 new special abilities, and a new map set in Egypt.
Still, at this point creating multiplayer shooters for VR is pretty risky since the player pool isn’t exactly gigantic. Luckily, the development team has added a bot system that will fill any open slots with flying AI bots. They are also aiming for a single-player mode against AI bots only.
So if you’re looking for a fun and fast-paced shooter set in zero gravity, then make sure to check Skyfront VR out when it releases on November 10th.
