First Contact Entertainment, the creators of ROM: Extraction, has revealed a new VR game they’ve been working on at the PSX event on Friday. It’s a squad-based tactical first-person shooter for PSVR called Firewall Zero Hour, and it looks a little like Rainbow Six.
Firewall Zero Hour is a 4 vs 4 team-based game where you will face off against other players in close quarters. The rewards for winning a match are inin-gameurrency, experience points, and bragging rights, of course. The in-game money can be used to upgrade your weapons and equipment, as well as buy cosmetic upgrades amongst other things.
Adam Orth, Creative Strategist at First Contact Entertainment, revealed more about the game in a blog post on the Playstation Blog. “In Firewall Zero Hour, two teams of mercenaries are hired by anonymous contract handlers to either protect or obtain highly sensitive information on a laptop in dangerous and exotic locations around the globe. Each team’s anonymous contract handler acts as their “eye in the sky” and guides each match by providing objectives and critical mission information along the way. Their only concern is the data and they are willing to pay you handsomely for it.”
According to Adam, teams will only accomplish the objectives set out for their team through cooperation and highly organized teamwork. There will also be a huge arsenal of weapons to hinder the other team with and the game supports both the PlayStation Aim controller and DualShock 4 controller.
Firewall Zero Hour is set to release exclusively for Playstation VR sometime in 2018, but if you’re at PlayStation Experience this weekend, then you can go check out the PVP demo on the show floor.
