From Squanch Games, the people that brought you the uniquely nutty Accounting, now comes a kooky new title, recently announced at GDC. This time around the team will be working with the larger than life genius Dr. Splorchy to create a new space adventure called Dr. Splorchy Presents: Space Heroes.
“We’re tremendously fortunate to have found such a creative and experienced partner in Dr. Splorchy, an incredible genius that we have definitely not grown to be deeply concerned about or afraid of over the course of our relationship” under what they both describe as “definitely not duress,” said studio founders Justin Roiland and Tanya Watson.
Squanch Games have partnered up with Google and will be putting their quirky genius to the work on making a series of VR games exclusively for the Google Daydream platform. The first of which will be Dr. Splorchy Presents: Space Heroes, which we don’t really know much about just yet. But you can bet it will be another title with their particularly acerbic brand of funny at its center.
A short trailer was also released but it doesn’t give away much of anything either. Except that you and your brother will become space heroes and be accompanied by Dr. Splorchy on an important space mission.
Check out the trailer below:
Which is supported by the short comment we have from Dr. Splorchy via the studio’s announcement press release. This scientist has experimented in both virtual and non-virtual reality technologies in ways that he personally describes as “so beyond the capability of your understanding that if I were to try to explain them to your primitive earth mind I would have to rip out most of your brain and replace it with a computer so powerful it hasn’t even been invented yet, so no, I will not send you a blurb for your stupid press release.”
Dr. Splorchy Presents: Space Heroes will be available at Google’s booth at GDC. But other than that we don’t know when anyone else will be able to get their first look at the game. No release date has been announced for the game yet, but we’ll definitely let you know when new info comes to light.
