It seems Halloween is giving the gifts this year as, besides all the other great announcements and releases, it seems we’re getting enough more Stranger Things to sate our creepy curiosities. Because not only is the Stranger Things DLC for the GearVR title, Face Your Fears available now, but Sony has also announced that a Stranger Things game is coming to Playstation VR.
Strange Things Are Happening In The Virtual World
The news was posted by Playstation UK on their Twitter page, which read as follows: “Feel the terror of The Upside Down in @Netflix’s Stranger Things VR Experience, coming soon to #PlayStationVR.” Along with the announcement they also posted a short teaser video that simply shows the Christmas lights from Joyce Byers’ home in season 1 of the show, which lights up the letters P, S, V, and R. Other than that, there’s not much more information yet, so we don’t know anything about the gameplay at this point. No release date has been announced either, but it will probably be sometime in 2018.
Face Your Fears In The Upside Down
As for the Face Your Fears DLC from Turtle Rock – it was announced at the Oculus Connect event earlier this year and is now available for free for anyone who owns the GearVR game. The studio has partnered with Netflix and Oculus to transport you to Hawkins Indiana with an original story that ties into the second season of the show. The Stranger Things DLC will let you encounter some creepy things, taking inspiration from Halloween, and then transports you to the dark dimension of the Upside Down. If you haven’t played the game yet, Face Your Fears is available for free on the Oculus Store.
So whatever your preferences or platform (well except for PC VR, sorry guys), you can step into the Stranger Things world and become part of the dark story.
