The horror game which was originally announced in 2015 and released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC last year by Camel101 was set to release for PSVR on April 28 after a long wait. But seems the wait is going to be even longer since the game has been delayed until June 2nd this year. This was indicated in a reply made by the developer on Twitter:

The game was announced for Oculus last year and would have been released in June 2016, but was delayed. After that, news about the game all but disappeared and after much speculation, it was recently confirmed that the game will be coming to PSVR. Oculus Rift and HTC Vive support, however, is yet to be confirmed. Neither the developer nor the publisher, BigMoon Entertainment, have given a reason for the second delay. We have reached out to them to find out about the cause of the delay and other platform support.
Syndrome is a survival horror game in which you awaken as Trent Galen from cryosleep on a ship in space. Dazed and confused you start to search for your crew mates only to make a gruesome discovery. The game reminds me heavily of Alien: Isolation in terms of theme and certain elements of execution, but it’s still a good game. And I think VR will bring a whole new level to the game, which might just satisfy your space horror needs until the next Alien VR experience comes along.
Check out the trailer below:
You’re Alone In The Darkness Of Space Against An Unknown Terror
After waking up and thinking the ship’s been deserted, you find your crewmates – or what’s left of them. Those that aren’t dead have been changed into something else. And they’re not friendly. You soon discover that you have to be careful if you’re going to make it off this ship alive. Alone and defenseless, your first goal is to find weapons and a way off this ship. But ammo is scarce and the weapons seem to be inadequate when dealing with the transformed monstrosities lurking around the ship. So stealth is a really good option – which I’d suggest if you’re planning on surviving through this game. If you’re as quiet as possible, they probably won’t come tear you to shreds.
As you explore around you’ll find clues as to what happened on the ship while you were in cryo. Hopefully, you get to discover the whole story, learn to analyze the creatures’ behavior so you know how to engage them, and find a way off the ship before one of the mutated horrors find you.
Syndrome has received mixed reviews so far, with a good atmosphere and decent graphics, but a relatively low overall impact compared to games like Dead Space and Alien: Isolation. However, I do have to say that the storyline is interesting and the other survivors on the ship have some twists and turns for you. And it will be interesting to see how the developers have approached the stealth aspect in VR since it felt a little lacking at times.
