There are a couple of great magic-based VR titles out there for anyone looking to get their Harry Potter on, but one of the most satisfying wizarding VR games available right now is probably Wands – a fast-paced magic dueling game from Cortopia Studios. The title was first released for Samsung Gear VR and then made its way over to Google Daydream and later got an upgrade to the high-end headsets, Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, and most recently came to the Oculus Go and Lenovo’s Mirage Solo.
As you might have guessed (or already know if you own the game), Wands lets you duel against other players in multiplayer arena matches within the realm of The Beyond where you get to do epic stuff like throw powerballs and harness the power of lightning. The mysterious nether realm of The Beyond just got a little larger, however, with a new update that will add The Sanctum of Sahir to the list of 5 arenas already available in the game. The other arenas include, Aspis Prison, Temple of Ophidian, Celestial Halls, Ortus Station, and Dead Master’s Vale. Some of these have also been added to Wands through updates, along with various new spells like Chilling Clutch and Skull Specter.
Coming up in update 1.4, the Sanctum of Sahir plays out over 3 locations on the map as you start outside the ancient Egyptian-like temple and progress your way inside towards the burial chamber. Other players won’t be the only things you face here as you’ll have to contend with sandstorms and a deadly poison as well.
The Sanctum of Sahir update is scheduled to land on Wands sometime later this month for all platforms. The title also allows cross-platform play and a constant stream of updates and new content means there’s quite a large database of players wielding their magic in Wands so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding matches. So are you ready to start throwing some magical punches among the deadly desert sands?
