Ever since I was a young child I dreamed of growing up and doing two simple things with my adult life. One of those things is getting paid to play video games. A reasonable goal, and one I am sure many of us share. My other goal is to be a mad scientist, like Dr. Frankenstein. Needless to say, I am still working on that one.
Okay, so the second goal will probably never come true. But if gaming has taught me anything, it’s that you can pretend to be just about anything. It would seem that the fine folks over at High Voltage Software have my back with their latest creation. Just released today, They Live to Destroy smashes its way onto the Gear VR.
Built to Destroy
In this city builder, monster may-lay, game you will take on the role of a mad scientist. Your goal is to use your outlandish technology to create your own metropolis and defend it from all who would be foolish enough to attack you. Your weapon of choice just so happens to be some really destructive Kaiju.
They Live to Destroy comes packed with up to forty killer monsters to collect and let loose on your foes. You will both attack and defend against other monsters, all while photographing and documenting your dastardly deeds. For science of course!
Old Kids on the Block
High Voltage Software has previously released a few VR titles, such as Dragon Front and Damaged Core. Both are currently available on the Oculus store. Having published over 96 titles since their founding in 1993, They live to Destroy marks their first venture into the world of Gear VR.
Currently, you can pick They Live to Destroy up absolutely free of charge. That is a tough price to beat. If you find yourself down for a little mad science Kaiju action, give They Live to Destroy a download. Just be sure to let us know what you think in the comments below.
