Being a knight in shining armor is so last decade. In Light Tracer, an upcoming puzzle action-platformer for PSVR you play a godlike entity that helps a princess get safely to the top of a tower so she can save her subjects.
Developed by Void Dimensions and published by Oasis Games, Light Tracer follows the path of a cutesy princess in a colorful little world who’s being helped by a mysterious entity to fulfill her role. As you progress through the eight levels in the game, you’ll start to learn more about your relationship as this entity with the princess and why you’re using your godlike powers to clear her path.
Light Tracer releases exclusively for PSVR this coming September and you can view the, uh, rather interesting trailer for the upcoming game below:
Lightbringer, Show the Way
Armed with your magical Light Staff, you will have to keep up with the princess as she travels up this tower of traps, danger, and puzzles. Using your staff, you’ll guide her movements and direct her sword as she makes her way ever upward and faces off against increasingly threatening creatures.
Having a bird’s-eye view of this tower, you will be able to turn it so you can see all of what needs to be seen in order to proceed forward. Some puzzles need to be viewed from multiple angles in order to be solved. Point of view is an important part of the gameplay in Light Tracer as you grab and spin the tower in order to find the correct triggers to open or objects to move.
The 8 levels in the game also run across various themes and environments, even though all this plays down in a singular tower. These environments range from icy to mechanically inspired art styles. Each level will also have a boss – like a ‘sinister snowman’ – to face at the end – which Oasis Games assures are not easy to defeat, despite the cute and somewhat simple artstyle of the game. You will need to learn the correct timing, the boss’s style, and use your reflexes to help the princess best them.
Exercise your powers and help a princess save her people in Light Tracer. We’ll keep you updated on any further developments about the game.
