Arizona Sunshine is making waves in the VR scene yet again. Recently the development studios, Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive, rolled out their first major update to the PlayStationVR release of their hit game. At the same time, the developers announced that PlayStationVR players are set to receive two free post launch DLC maps sometime this summer. Now, it would appear that Arizona Sunshine has become a contender for the VR Award’s VR Game of the Year!
In a short list submitted by the events hosts, VR Bound, Arizona Sunshine is named as one of the eleven nominated VR games. Around 450 VR games where submitted with current contenders including such titles as Robo Recall and SUPERHOT VR. The judges will no doubt have their hands full with heavy hitters like these contending for the title. A full list of contenders for the VR Awards is viewable on the VR Bound’s award website.
Represented in the awards ceremony this year are twelve different categories. These categories range from VR Headset of the Year to VR Experience of the Year, just to name a few. A diverse panel of industry experts will judge the contenders on a point based system. The announcement of the winners will take place in London on the 9th of October.
It is no secret that this year has been great for VR gaming. With many new developers on the scene and several well known studios jumping into the VR arena, the competition for this years VR Awards is looking pretty fierce.
