Japanese virtual reality developer MyDearest has teamed up with Sekai Project to tease an upcoming VR game called Tokyo Chronos. They’re keeping all news about the title pretty much under wraps, but we do know that it’s due to release for HTC Vive, PlayStation VR, and both Oculus Go and Rift in December 2018.
MyDearest, who are behind titles like The Dream Clinic VR, said that Tokyo Chronos will be a mystery adventure VR game where you play one of eight friends who are trapped in a world where time has stopped. Then, one by one, each of them start to go missing.
According to a development blog post by Ken Kishigami, a producer at MyDearest, the official synopsis for Tokyo Chronos is the following:
For how long, and why, have the been separated?
A group of eight who were friends since childhood.
The time came for the mystery to be revealed.
Time stopped, and the eight were trapped in a Shibuya where no one else existed.
In an unusual space where one person disappears at a time.
—I died. Who is the culprit?
We don’t know much of anything about the upcoming title right now, but more information is due to come from the Anime Expo 2018 on July 5 in Los Angeles, California. The teaser website for the game also has a timer ticking down to when more information about the game will be revealed. (Just a quick seizure warning should you decided to check out the website.)
So if this sounds like a promising adventure to you, then make sure to keep following news on Tokyo Chronos. We’ll make sure to let you know when any new information comes to light.
