Oculus Connect 4 has brought with it a flood of news and reveals. From new hardware and social spaces, to game announcements and demos. Windlands 2 was one such demo. The creators of Windlands, Psytec Games, allowed OC4 attendees an opportunity to check out some of the sequels interesting features.
The overall aesthetics have remained from the original game and you will still find yourself swinging from those stylized trees. The level of detail has improved over the original but if you played the first game, you will feel right at home. In keeping with what has been a dominating theme at OC4, Windlands 2 will now support multiplayer.
Friends, Bosses, and Bows
This change opens many new doors ranging from combat elements to social encounters the developers might not have ever dreamed of. Race friends to various landmarks, free fall and see who can save their bacon at the last second, team up and go hunting or just hang out. You are simply free to use the world as you please. I mentioned hunting because Windlands 2 also has combat.
Players have access to a bow that can be summoned and used to rain arrows down upon their foes. Each level now features a boss battle and it is up to you and your party to learn how to survive each encounter.
Windlands 2 has a lot going for it but Psytec Games has stated that even more is yet to come. We still do not know what the multiplayer limits will be or how much the game will cost. We also don’t have a projected release date at this time but we will keep you posted.
