A lot of new VR content was revealed at The Playstation Experience live stream in Anaheim on Friday. Which includes The Last Guardian VR, an underwater adventure called Jupiter & Mars, and squad-based shooter Firewall Zero Hour. With the exception of The Last Guardian, we’ll only be able to get our hands these titles next year. Another new title that was spoken of during the live stream is the futuristic racer Wipeout. This iconic racing game will be getting VR support in an update early next year, following the release of The Omega Collection earlier this year.
So now you’ll be able to jump into the gravity-defying vehicles and race at speeds that will have you racing to the bathroom even faster. Just kidding. Though the game is known for its extreme speeds and, well, no gravity. So much so that even Sony’s Shawn Layden joked on stage about people needing to supply their own air sickness bags. I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Just to be clear, if it wasn’t already, Wipeout VR won’t be a standalone title, but rather the developers are adding VR as an option in a future update scheduled for sometime next year.
