The Wizards from Carbon Studio is shaping up to be a magical title. Not only does it transport you to a different realm where dragons and other wondrous creatures exist, but it also gives you the ability to wield magic. Now, besides the many other great things that virtual reality offers, for some the chance to feel like they’re really wielding magic is an enchanting experience all on its own. The Wizards was released back in August this year for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on Steam.
In The Wizards you play the role of a young wizard who is being guided by an old mentor to help rid the realm of vile creatures. In the first major update to The Wizards we saw free motion and free teleportation (which was previously fixed) brought to the game. Now this early access game’s second major update brings even more content to its virtual fantasy world.
Along with the update, Carbon Studio also released a new trailer, which you can see below:
This update brings an ‘Arena mode’ which replaces what previously known as the ‘Arcade mode’ and adds two new locations to the game along with a lot of fixes and improvements. The two new maps include an airy Mountainpass Castle and underground Crystal Caverns where you have to find and destroy corrupted crystals before you’re overrun.
“With free locomotion update our goal was to address players’ request for free movement and to
enhance the feeling of exploration. This time, our focus was on delivering replay value. Arena Mode
challenges players to master their skills and compete with other players. We believe it’s fun and
something that doesn’t wear out too quickly,” said Paweł Gajda, Manager at Carbon Studio in a statement.
If you want to see a full list of the improvements and fixes in this update can be seen on the changelog. Another update is expected to be released within the next month that will bring a third chapter to the game’s story mode too.
We’ll keep you updated on any more news surrounding The Wizards.
