All Of The VR Black Friday Deals Available This Year

Black Friday is nearly upon us again, and the deals are streaming in this year. With all of the headsets available on the market currently, there’s more opportunity than ever before to stick your head into a virtual world for some fun.

So naturally, many companies have already revealed their Black Friday deals ahead of the big day and we’ve been scouring the internet for all of the VR-related deals so you don’t have to. We’ll keep updating this post as more deals are revealed. For now, check out what’s in store for you below:

PlaystationVR

Sony is, as ever, on top of this sale like hipsters on the new Iphone X. Sony already announced the PlayStation VR Gran Turismo Sport Bundle and the PlayStation VR Skyrim VR Bundle mere weeks ago. They aren’t stopping there, however. Besides the great deals they will have on their consoles, on a recent blog post on the Playstation Blog, they announced that the bundles mentioned above will be discounted another $100 for the holiday. That means that you can get the Gran Turismo Sport Bundle for $299 and the Skyrim VR Bundle for $349. Selected stores will be selling these bundles of course, including Dell, GameStop, Amazon, Walmart, and Newegg.

“To get in the holiday spirit, we’ve got some amazing Black Friday deals to share with you. We’re celebrating Black Friday early and for an entire week this year in the US, starting on November 19th through Cyber Monday on November 27th, at participating retailers while supplies last,” Sony said.

Their sale pricing on games will begin a little earlier though, on November 17 if you’re a Playstation Plus member and on November 21 if you’re not. Sony is promising up to 40% off on the titles on the Playstation Store. What’s more is that you won’t have to fight anyone for a copy – now that’s convenience right there. Unless you were really looking forward to a fight.

Edit: Sony has now also released some deals for the UK that includes the Skyrim VR bundle being made available to our friends across the pond for £249.99. The Gran Turismo PSVR bundle will, which was already available, will get its current price slashed by £100. Unfortunately, the DoomVFR bundle is still only available in the US and Canada.

Windows Mixed Reality

Windows is one of the companies that’s getting into the early hype of the holiday season this year with their Mixed Reality headsets. Starting on November 19th, you’ll be able to get the various windows mixed reality headsets for $100 cheaper. This sale includes all of the headsets from manufacturers, Samsung, Acer, Lenovo, Dell and HP. That means you’ll pay around $300 – $400, depending on which manufacturer’s headset you decide to buy. These deals are especially tantalizing given that the headsets are getting SteamVR support this week which adds a lot of new games to the offering.

There’s also a sweet deal on an Acer Aspire Nitro 5 Gaming laptop paired with an Acer mixed reality headset for $999. You can view all of the upcoming Windows Black Friday deals on their blog post.

HTC Vive

HTC hasn’t announced any deals yet for the Vive for this year’s Black Friday. However, the Vive isn’t to be left behind and retailers like Office Depot are taking up the cause. They will be selling the Vive at the normal price point of $599 but will throw in a deluxe audio strap for free. The audio straps usually go for $99. The strap includes integrated earphones and a sturdier, more comfortable design for your Vive’s headstrap. So if you don’t have an HTC Vive yet, then this is your chance to get the headset along with the more comfortable strap and Fallout 4 VR which is now included with every Vive purchase. This sale will become available on November 23rd.

Edit: HTC is now also offering a huge discount on Viveport subscriptions for Black Friday. There are multiple options, the largest of which offers a 12-month pre-paid subscription with access to over 60 apps for $30. The subscription normally costs $80. You can also choose a 6-month plan for $40 which gives you access to 30 apps and a 3-month plan with 15 apps for $20. The last two shaves $20 off the normal price of the subscriptions.

Oculus Rift

Oculus will also have discounts available during Black Friday, of course. You’ll be able to get the Oculus Rift and Touch Controllers at retailers like Best Buy and Newegg for just $349, making it $50 cheaper than current $399 price. And given that the price of the headset had already been dropped twice this year from $799, then this is a pretty big slash once again. No other deals for the Rift have been announced yet, but we’ll keep you updated if any arise.

Gear VR

Samsung has a lot of deals going during this year’s Black Friday and as always they do not disappoint. When it comes to the Gear VR, the company is also giving some love this year when you buy a Gear 360. If you decide to buy the 360 degree camera at a discounted price of $199 (down from $229) then you’ll get a Gear VR thrown in for free. The GearVR usually goes for around $130 so this is a great deal. You can get this deal on Samsung’s online store or in selected stores like Best Buy. Well, that is if you want the camera. Of course, there will be lots of deals on Gear VR-ready phones as well.

So hopefully this list has helped bring a little order to your day amidst the chaos that is the busiest shopping week of the year. We’ll keep adding to it to help untangle all the information out there and help you get the best VR deals this year.
